Dancing in the Moonlight
Artist: Toploader
Song: Dancing in the Moonlight
Album: Onka’s Big Moka
Model: Gabrielle
Location: Royal Crescent, Bath, Somerset UK

Notes:-
For once, a happy and bright memory. This was a very commercial song released in 1999 just before the millennium. It’s unusual for me to like such an obviously pop-py, party recording but it reminds me of house parties and laughter when I was old enough to know better. It makes me feel happy, it’s just one of those things.

Sometimes it really is that simple, enjoy life, enjoy the moment and stop and take time to drink it in. We hurtle from moment to moment rarely contemplating the now. Always looking forward to the next thing when before you realise it, half your life has disappeared in a whirl.

I was lucky enough to photograph Toploader at an event organised by a friend and I got a shot of the singer sitting at the piano right in front of a light with his red frizzy hair in silhouette, it’s still one of my favourite shots.

My photograph here is obvious but was great fun to shoot. This grabs the feeling the song gives me and intentionally is full of energy and vitality. It was one of the hardest to process of the series but I like it and I think I’ll put it on my wall!
