Artist: Nickelback
Song: Someday
Album: The Long Road
Model: Ezzie
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire UK

Notes:-
This song was another product of watching music channels on satellite TV. It was released in 2003 and I can remember thinking at the time that the videos accompanying songs were becoming much better produced and relevant as an art form in themselves. Instead of a small visual that accompanied a song, they were becoming integral and as important as the music itself.

Nickelback were a big thing back then and were riding on the success of their single, “How you remind me” which we were performing and covering in our band. The heavy guitar style of the band appealed to me (of course) together with Chad Kroeger’s brilliant rock voice. 'Someday' was released with the same style and good lyrics but an amazing video telling the story of an apparent relationship split. The ending still gives me goose pimples even though I know it’s coming. The lyrics are typical ‘love lost’ angst but like a lot of good songs seem to be able to cut to my feelings of patheticness and lack of any self-worth and pride when I’ve felt this way. “It’s ok, somehow I’m gonna make this all ok again”, I’d tell myself. The reality being, she never wanted it to be ok again, she’d gone!

I wanted the shot to be in a normal setting, in an everyday household. Ezzie really got into the part and I took a load of shots of her while she screamed at me and told me how useless I was! This one seemed to capture the anger but also the hurt that’s involved in an awful breakup of a once close and loving relationship. (It didn't hurt too much Ez, really!)
