Notes:-
The concept that you can taste a moment is bizarre and yet so cool. This is another of those songs made more powerful by a video I saw of a live performance taken in San Francisco at an outdoor gig. The entire footage shows the band playing on a stage to a 1000’s strong audience, at night, during a torrential downpour. (I wouldn’t have wanted to be their electrical engineer!) Somehow the setting gives the song even more power and excitement. The song is set to an unusual timing with acoustic guitars and powerful vocal. The lyrics are magical and the song written for the film, City of Angels. I didn’t realise this till much later but oddly I love the film too! It’s a soppy, twisted love story that I admit produced a lump in my throat at the end.

We performed a cover of this song in my band as we all loved it so much, it was challenging but great to do. Sadly, due to its slightly odd beat, we found the audiences we played it to couldn’t dance to it and it wasn’t well known enough for them to sing along to either so we reluctantly had to drop it from our set list.

One of my favourite lines was this one so I just had to shoot it. Carla was game for it but I wanted the literal interpretation to not look sexy, more quirkily romantic. We thought and tried a couple of ideas for the ‘taste’ element but settled on honey as it didn’t look too erotic/salacious or silly…I think!
